Powder fire extinguisher car VP-1 — a compact handheld primary fire suppression device weighing only 2 kg, which should be in every car, garage and near a generator. Charged with universal ABC fire extinguishing powder (ABC Factor-40), it knocks down flames in seconds when every second counts.
Why you need a fire extinguisher on hand
A car fire spreads rapidly: fuel, oil, plastic, rubber hoses and electrical wiring ignite within minutes, and the car can burn completely before firefighters arrive. In such a situation, you can only rely on yourself — and on a working fire extinguisher within quick reach. VP-1 weighs about 2 kg and easily mounts in the cabin, trunk or near your workstation.
What the VP-1 fire extinguisher puts out
ABC powder covers three fire classes at once:
- Class A — solid combustible materials (wood, fabric, paper, plastic)
- Class B — flammable liquids (gasoline, diesel, oils, solvents)
- Class C — flammable gases
- Electrical equipment under voltage up to 1000 V — extinguishing from a distance of at least 1 meter
This is why VP-1 is universal: with one fire extinguisher you cover both fuel and electricity and household materials.
How carbon dioxide fire extinguisher differs from powder
CO₂ extinguishes fire with two mechanisms at once: displaces oxygen from the combustion zone and rapidly cools the fire source. Unlike powder, it does not damage equipment, documents and surfaces — after activation the gas simply evaporates. This is why carbon dioxide fire extinguishers are placed where powder would cause secondary damage: near servers, electrical panels, office equipment, at charging stations.
