Collapsible silicone container 550 ml with lid on 4 latches and steam valve

Collapsible silicone container 550 ml with lid on four latches and steam valve, 150 g — a lunch box that when empty folds from 6.6 to 2.8 cm and takes up space in a backpack like a saucer. The body made of food-grade silicone folds accordion-style, the polypropylene lid closes with four latches, and a silicone valve in the center releases steam when heated in a microwave — no need to remove the lid. 550 ml — a portion of porridge, pasta, pilaf, salad or soup; a can of stewed meat with a side dish; a dry ration transferred from a box. Silicone withstands boiling water and frost, does not absorb odor and color, washes in a dishwasher. The container works as a bowl too: unfold, fill, eat, fold. Color ochre (orange-red), weight 150 g, unfolded Ø 13.8 × 6.6 cm, folded Ø 13.8 × 2.8 cm.

In the section Thermoses, dishes and cutlery the container is complemented by a collapsible bowl 600 ml: the bowl — for eating, the container — to take food with you and reheat it. To it — collapsible set spoon-fork-knife or spoon-fork with carabiner; reheat without a microwave — in a pot of water on a collapsible burner 3200 W.

For whom

• Fighters: a portion from a field kitchen or a heated ration in a pouch, the lid with latches won’t open on the road; empty — 2.8 cm
• Office, training, shift: home lunch in a backpack, microwave heating with a valve without removing the lid, back — folded
• Tourists, cyclists: container and bowl in one, 150 g, fits into backpack pocket
• Road travelers, fishermen, dacha: salad, sliced vegetables, berries, marinade — does not leak to the side, dishwasher safe
• Parents: snack for child to school or training without disposable bags

Instructions for use

1. Before first use, wash the container and lid with warm water and dish soap.
2. Unfold: holding the bottom, pull the edge upward until the folds click. Check that the walls are even.
3. Fill no higher than the lower edge of the upper fold; liquid dishes — to two-thirds. Cover with the lid, press down and fasten all four latches, close the valve.
4. Reheating in a microwave: open the valve, do not remove the lid, 1–2 minutes on medium power, stir, another minute. Reheating without a microwave: place the closed container in a pot with hot water for 5–10 minutes.
5. After eating, wash, dry laid out, fold: press on the edge to the bottom, cover with the lid and fasten — the lid holds the container folded.

Wash silicone after fatty food with hot water and detergent; baking soda removes onion plaque and odor. Wash the lid separately, remove and rinse the valve. Do not cut in the container with a knife, do not place on a burner, stove or in the oven — silicone is not for open flame, the polypropylene lid melts.

Safety

Container is not for cooking on fire and not for hot oil. When heating in a microwave, the valve must be open, otherwise the lid will be blown off by steam; after heating, open the lid away from you — steam comes out. Hold the hot container by the bottom and edge, the walls are soft. Transfer liquid dishes vertically and do not fill to the brim: the clips hold the lid, but the container is not a thermos or a flask. Do not let children chew the valve and clips. Do not store a wet container folded — odor appears in the folds.

Frequently asked questions

Does it leak in the backpack?
The lid with four clips holds tightly, and salad, porridge or pilaf travel without problems. Transport soup and sauces vertically, fill two-thirds full and close the valve — this is a food container, not a flask.

Can you reheat it in the microwave with the lid on?
Yes, that’s what the valve is for: open it and leave the lid on — the food won’t splatter and steam will escape. Without the valve open, the lid will pop off.

Does it collapse while eating?
No: the folds are fixed in the unfolded position and only compress when you press on the edge. You can eat from the container like from a bowl.

How is it different from the collapsible bowl 600 ml?
It has a lid with a valve and clips. The bowl is for eating: lighter (85 g), deeper, with a rigid bottom. The container is for taking food with you, reheating it and not spilling. You take the bowl on a hike, and the container to work and on duty.

Does it absorb odor and color?
Food-grade silicone — no, if washed immediately. Borscht and curry that have sat for a day leave a mark; removed with hot water and baking soda or in the dishwasher.

Is there a larger volume?
The series consists of several volumes, containers nest into each other when folded; larger sizes see in the dishware section.
