Thanks to modern retort packaging, the meal can be stored for up to 24 months without refrigeration. The hermetic package reliably preserves the taste, aroma, and nutritional properties of the meat.
The meal is ready to eat. If desired, it can be heated by placing the package in hot water for a few minutes, placing the open package over a fire after a campfire, or using a flameless food heater.
